Vinegar in general is healthy for you, but Balsamic Vinegar is healthy AND yummy! It's sweetness lends itself to a wonderful addition to many beverages. There is something for everyone here, both yound and old! So relax, and enjoy.
Dark Chocolate Balsamic Martini
2 martini glasses
1 cocktail shaker
3 oz chilled vodka
1 TBS Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar
Rim chilled martini glasses with lavender sugar.
Add chilled vodka to cocktail shaker.
Add Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar.
Shake all ingredients and strain into glasses.
1 cup 1/2-inch cubes watermelon, plus additional for garnish
1 cup chopped strawberries, plus additional for garnish
1 teaspoon strawberry balsamic vinegar
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 (3-oz) scoops lime or lemon sorbet
Chilled club soda or seltzer
Combine watermelon, strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and cayenne pepper in a medium bowl. Divide about 2/3 of the fruit evenly between 2 tall glasses. Add a scoop of sorbet to each glass.
Top with the remaining fruit and juices. Fill with club soda; garnish with additional fruit.
Balsamic Bloody Mary
Ice cubes as needed
1 cup vodka
2 cups tomato juice
1 ½ TBS balsamic vinegar
1 TBS prepared horseradish
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
4 dashes of Tabasco sauce
1/t tsp celery salt
Juice of 2 limes
Freshly ground pepper , to taste
4 cherry tomatoes
4 green chilies
In a large pitcher, combine the vodka, tomato juice, vinegar, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, celery salt, lime juice and ice. Stir well to combine and season with pepper. Pour into the ice-filled glasses and garnish each glass with a cherry tomato and a chili speared on a cocktail pick. Serve immediately. Serves 4.
Variation: To make a Jalapeño Bloody Mary, substitute the vodka with a spicy flavored vodka, such as jalapeño vodka or pepper vodka. Garnish with a jalapeño speared on a cocktail pick.
Flavored Balsamic Soda
4 oz seltzer
2 tbs fruit syrup (your choice of flavor)
¼ tsp flavored balsamic vinegar of your choice
Fresh fruit for garnish (optional)
Fill a highball glass with ice. Add seltzer, then add the fruit syrup and balsamic vinegar.
Stir gently to combine.
Garnish with a slice or piece of fresh fruit, if desired, and serve.
